Long-Term Hold
When should I use Long-Term Hold?
Use it when short-term outreach for Not Booked treatment should pause, but the practice may reasonably want to revisit it later.
It’s a judgement for your team, not a rule Markwell applies.
When you choose Long-Term Hold, you record a Hold Reason: Patient Wants to Wait, No Urgency, Cost, Timing, Unable to Reach or Other. These describe typical situations, such as a patient who would rather wait until later in the year.
Good to know
- No particular barrier, number of contact attempts or treatment age requires Long-Term Hold. If the practice isn’t going to pursue the treatment any further, No Further Follow-Up may fit better.
